USNWC and Pete's Birthday

I had made plans with Pete to go to the U.S. National Whitewater Center in Charlotte, N.C. on Tuesday of this week. However, when Pete remembered it was his birthday, things were put on hold temporarily. Luckily, his family didn't have anything planned during the day and we could get Pete home "on time" for the cookout that night. So, what followed was a great day shredding the water at the whitewater park.

While at the park, Pete and I met up with Griffen, a local in Charlotte. The three of us made quite a few runs down the freestyle and competition channels at the whitewater center. Both looked on with angst during my first two runs of "Final Destination" in the competition channel....I decided to style the drop underwater the first time and and catch the foam pile backwards the second time. My lines were much smoother after I got that out of my system.

All in all, it was a terrific day at the park. Great lines. Plenty of waves and holes to surf. Big water. Good friends. Who could ask for more? Happy Birthday, Pete.
